2Pac Resists Temptation With Amel Larrieux On New Album

Thumbnail image for Tupac.jpgThere are few things in this world that you can count on these days: War, global warming, and the adoption of a child by a celebrity from an impoverished country. Additionally, the release of a new 2Pac album every year or so is yet another thing that can be added to this list. The prolific rapper will be releasing his ninth posthumous disc (and double CD at that) tomorrow, The Best of 2Pac. Featuring collaborations with singers as varied as Suzanne Vega and Anthony Hamilton, it also includes the previously unreleased track "Resist The Temptation" featuring Amel Larrieux. Despite this unlikely pairing, "Resist The Temptation" features a "conscious" 2Pac, circa "Brenda's Got A Baby" and before the thug antics, which characterized his later career with Death Row Records. The two-disc set, volume one entitled "Thug" and volume two entitled "Life," no doubt point to the infamous tattoos for which he became widely known, but hopefully this album will honor Pac's legacy with more "life" and less "thug."
