In honor of Black History Month, Black Voices is featuring 25 future Black history makers and amongst that number are two gentlemen who we show a lot of love to here at SoulBounce: Idris Elba and Saul Williams.
Elba is being recognized as Hollyhood's future leading man, but I must add that his music is not to be slept on. I have my ear out for his new project that should drop sometime this year, and I'm hoping to shake my groove thing at another of his DJing gigs, too.
Interestingly enough, Saul was the only artist named to BV's list in the music category. (Keyshia Cole was listed but for her celebreality show.) That's a good look for him, but it's a sad commentary. (What? No Soulja Boy? Expect a MySpace rant shortly.) Regardless, the multifaceted Williams continues to make moves and this nod is well-deserved.
The BV subsite also has past and present Black history makers including Prince, Russell Simmons, Berry Gordy and Diana Ross.
