The Roots' Fans Are Even More Split Over 'Birthday Girl'

Since the lead single "Birthday Girl" for The Roots' tenth album Rising Down premiered on the internet four days ago, their fans have chosen sides. In short, some hate it, and some think it's great that the band has chosen to think outside of the "hip hop box." As one of their fans who was fully prepared to launch Side-Eye 2.0 © after hearing "Birthday Girl" featuring Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, this video now has both of my eyes twitching so hard, I can barely write this post. All I going to say is that the video involves (surprise) a teenager's birthday party, lots of dancing, lots of (presumed) cocaine, the birthday girl making out with her female cohort, and the mother of the "birthday girl" making out with a rather young underaged boy. Does anyone have Questlove's number? I feel like someone has some serious explaining to do.
