An act that is long overdue for a release is AAries, sisters Ayana and Ayinke Hipps who covered Patrice Rushen's "Settle For My Love" alongside Musiq Soulchild on Aijuswanaseing. They are also featured on his singles "Forthenight"and "Girl Next Door". Since 2000, we've seen four releases from Musiq with no debut from these sisters, who are not only classic, stylish beauties but can sing. In the video below, they take on Amy Winehouse's "Love is a Losing Game", easily the most beautifully-penned track from Back to Black. They were initially signed to Atlantic, but are now part of Sony/Columbia via production imprint Home Cookin'. When artists like this have to marinate too long while trend-chasers old and new continue to get a pass, it depresses me. Get at AAries on their Myspace page.
