Saturday in Detroit: I grew faint when I got wind of this show. Why oh why has DC been forsaken?! Philly?! Hello! Jill Scott and Bilal will perform at Chene Park as part of the Classic Soul Series. Tickets range from $25-$65 and are available at the box office or through Ticketmaster. Detroiters, I'm hating real hard right now. Y'all enjoy.
Saturday in DC: Hip Hop heads who may have found the ticket price for Rock The Bells a little too steep, be sure to check out the free Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest at Marvin Gaye Park. DJ Jahsonic will be on double duty hosting and spinning throughout the day. Hip hop and soul singers set to rock the mic include Rogiers, Afi Soul, Mello D & the Rados, Substantial, Dee Stone and Jua Howard. For more details visit the festival website.
