Last time we checked, Heavy D was doing some acting, slimmed down a bit by boxing in the gym, and was going just by "D." Looks like the more things change, they stay the same, at least when it comes to which moniker he chooses to go by. Add to that the dancehall vibes he is bringing to the game once again (see his singing stint with Supercat and Shinehead from the early '90s) with his appropriately titled album Vibes, and it looks like Dwight may be shaping up to try and be the next Shaggy. Hopefully not, but in the meantime, the video for "Long Distance Girlfriend" is stylized like those sexy videos from the turn of the century. The video also has Nia Long like all those sexy videos again from the turn of the century! It's all good, though. Heavy D gets an "E" for effort and an "NT" for nice try. We'll have to check out Vibes to see how nicely this Jamaican bredren translates his music into "Dancehall lite."
