What's In A Name? Soil & 'Pimp' Sessions Force Our Hand

I know what you're thinking. A band named Soil & 'Pimp' Sessions? Except that when we really thought about it, is this really that much different than Dirt McGirt a/k/a Ol Dirty Bastard? Or the late and beloved Pimp C? Isn't it always only about the music anyway? Yes, it is. And with their video for their single "Storm," Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, a band out of Japan, seamlessly meld their Soul, Jazz, and Funk influences into one smattering of pure energy. "Storm" burns from the first note that is played, and it's essentially a blur of Jazz fusion love after that. Their album, Planet Pimp which is their first US release, drops February 24th which will surely be copped by us with the quickness. And by the looks of it, their live shows are pure fire. Hopefully, you will have a chance to catch them when they tour Stateside. Until then, be content with the video below.
