Bounce-Worthy: Iyadede

iyadede.jpgBrooklyn transplant Iyadede has a type of sound that, while has been gaining in popularity over the past few years, is a sound all her own. The native Rwandan can count fleeing to Belgium from her home country's genocide as an indefinite influence, as well as being soothed by the sounds coming from the Rwandan National Radio station where her mother worked as a DJ when Iyadede was still in her belly. These two contrasting poles give her a sound that is at once a bit Synth Pop and a bit Soul, and everything else you may want it to be. Plus, how can you not expect offbeat, quirky, and eccentric sweetness from someone who has toured with Zap Mama? To prove these points, check out the tracks below and be sure to keep an eye out for her album Talking To God when it drops in the not too distant future.
