Eric Benét Hosts The New Season Of 'Lyric Cafe'

Eric Benét has already conquered music, he's dabbled in acting and now he can add television host to his resume when the fourth season of BETJ's Lyric Cafe hits the air later this year. Eric was in Washington, DC last week to tape five episodes of the popular show that melds spoken word and soul together with a live band fronted by saxman Mike Phillips. I attended two tapings and after witnessing the ease with which EB took to his hosting duties it makes you wonder why he's never done this before. As you'll see when season four hits the air, with his charisma and wit, Eric is a natural in front of the camera. And when he sings? It's a wrap. Kudos to BETJ and Lyric Cafe for getting it right with casting Benét and also for the impressive roster of artists on this new season including Leela James, Rahsaan Patterson, Lalah Hathaway, Ginuwine and YahZarah. Until we get to enjoy these future episodes of Lyric Cafe, check out my photos from the set after the bounce and on Flickr.
