The 'Black Dynamite' Soundtrack Is Explosive. And That Ain't No Jive.

I am as picky with which movies I see as much as I am discerning about which music finds its route past my eardrum. When I went to go check out Black Dynamite last night, I expected a few chuckles and chortles here and there. I was completely unprepared to damn near have tears in my eyes from the first few minutes of the film all the way through its action-packed, intelligently hilarious 86 minutes of Blaxploitation glory. I was even more surprised with how damn amazing the score was, even though I knew Wax Poetics Magazine was behind the endeavor. Scored by Adrian Younge, who I am now convinced is a musical genius after watching the documentary chronicling the score, you won't be surprised to find this music "end up in Hip Hop records in the near future." I know I implore you all to peep certain things, but I cannot stress how great this original--yes, original--score is. Please check it out on Wax Poetics' website or on Amazon. And please be sure to support this movie and bring an extra lung. You'll need it after you cough up one of yours.
