The Foreign Exchange’s Long Journey Into A Great ‘Day’

As you already know, after winning several SoulBounce Honors last year for their epic Leave It All Behind project, The Foreign Exchange was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the album's single "Daykeeper" featuring Muhsinah. Words can't express how happy we are for them, and although they've tried to express how grateful and appreciative they are for the love and support of their fans, they couldn't reach everyone. Until now, that is. The dynamic duo, Nicolay and Phonte, have put together a video to tell of their journey from total strangers to the cohesive unit they've become today. It's a must-see for fans and aspiring artists alike, as they discuss how they knew that "Daykeeper" was something special, and how hard work and perseverance pays off. Sometimes even with a Grammy nominiation. Check the clip below, keep up with them on Twitter, and stay tuned, as the FE camp has much more on the way in the new year.

  1. Beautiful album. I connected with the name of the album itself.... "leave it all behind". For me, that meant leaving the mainstream b.s. behind and moving on to strictly soulful sets. There's too much good music not being respected as it should be right now. It's my job as a dj to spread that soul whenever and wherever I can. It's time.........

  2. I'm soooooooooo proud of them! I'm a VA denizen who spent much of his childhood in Currituck County, which is in NC, so they feel like homeboys to me. Here's to hoping they actually take the Grammy home!

  3. What an endearing video. Congratulations, this was my album of the year.
