Benny Tones Is On The Verge With 'Chrysalis'

The music world sure does love the concept of transformation. Take the word "chrysalis" for example. Not only is it a beautifully spelled word with just the right touch of consonants and vowels as well as a nicely placed forgotten vowel "y" to boot, but it represents a chance for renewal, a rebirth if you will. This word has also graced the name of a defunct record company and now it graces the cover of Benny Tones' album. Who is he? The unofficial fourth member of Electric Wire Hustle, the New Zealand group that enraptured every tastemaker and DJ last year, that's who. While we wait for them to bless us all with more material, we can play catchup with the May 23rd release. Sadly, Chrysalis isn't available in the States yet, but you can get a taste of what's on the album by visiting Benny's Bandcamp page. Check out "On My Way" with fellow Electric Wire Hustle member Mara TK and the title track with Sacha Vee. Good looking out to SoulUK on this one.
