Michael Jackson Returns With Posthumous Album, Heads Are Scratched

There seemed to be a collective split amongst Michael Jackson's fans yesterday when the Cirque cu Soleil's "Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour" stage show was revealed to be a very real event that is going to be touring in the very near future. Cirque's extravaganza coupled with Kenny Ortega's remake of Thriller into a feature film without Michael and now MICHAEL, a new album of Michael's tunes never heard before certainly is making some folks uncomfortable, let alone me. I guess it makes sense to make money off of this most lucrative entertainer, currently outearning his living counterparts, but all of this commercial onslaught now, especially right before Christmas, just makes me feel as though Michael's legacy is now carrion for the vultures who wish to get a piece of his pie. I still intend to buy the "Michael Jackson The Experience" video game, however, but the trailer for "Breaking News," a single from the album set to drop on Monday, may or may not have Michael's actual vocals. Something is rotten in Denmark Neverland and it doesn't take a detective to figure it out. For what it's worth, here is the album cover of MICHAEL painted by Kadir Nelson. You can take a peek at the video teaser after the bounce and we'll be sure to keep you updated with any news on this and other Michael Jackson projects in the works.
