‘UnSung’ Unwraps Miki Howard

It's a wrap for the current season of UnSung, and parting will be such sweet sorrow after tonight's episode about soul siren Miki Howard airs. TV One has truly outdone themselves with this season, and I have a feeling that they will end their last show of 2010 on a high note much like the season began. Tonight we'll get to hear what really happened to Howard, who was one of the most promising soul singers of the late '80's/early '90's before falling out of the limelight. This preview of the episode gives us a clue as to what led to her downfall. After breaking up with Gerald Levert, Miki fell under the spell of a shady character who abused her in the midst of ruining her career. But if Miki Howard is one thing, though, it's a survivor, and she's lived to tell her tale. This sounds like it's going to be another emotional roller coaster of a show, so have your Kleenex nearby--to dab away any tears because of Miki's story or due to the fact that we have to wait until 2011 for the next season on UnSung.

  1. I don't know how they can top themselves next season. Each season has gotten better and better. Still hoping that they'll have an Unsung: Loose Ends in the future.

  2. miki was on drugs heavy, she used to run with chaka, cherelle 'nem

  3. This will definitely be a good one but it isn't the last one. The final show of the season will be next Monday and it's chronicling the O'Jays! Definitely watch out for that one!!!!!!!

  4. I thought that the episode about Miki Howard was interesting and how her parents were gospel singers. Yes, many of the African American singers have come out of the church. It was mentioned that she knew Rev. James Cleveland. I thought it might be a good choice for next season to do an "Unsung" on Rev. James Cleveland. What do you think?

  5. Is funny how her mother was a known lesbian but apart of such an influential gospel group IN THE 60s!!
