AAries Are Back To Tell You ‘Don’t Give It Up’

It's been over 10 years since twin sisters Ayana and Ayinke Hipps first came to our attention as the AAries, adding their colorful vocals to Musiq Soulchild's debut album and a handful of his singles. What should have been the springboard for this dynamic duo into fame and fortune instead found them falling victim to Industry Rule #4080. But you can't keep two good women down, and you definitely can't count these Philly sistas out. Free from major label shackles, AAries have big plans to independently release their debut project, an EP of all new material, in the next few months in addition to posting previously unreleased songs online. It's no doubt that this EP will be worth the extended wait after hearing their new song "Don't Give It Up." The joyful groove is their tribute to the beautiful music that Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton made together and is perfect for stepping the night away or getting funky down the Soul Train line, as seen in a video that AAries put together of old clips from the hippest trip in America. You can peep those visuals after the bounce or just press play below to enjoy this tune on its own. Whatever you do, be sure to keep up it locked on SoulBounce as we keep you in the loop about all things AAries.

  1. I actually enjoyed this song! This is that R&B/neo-soul sound that we NEED in 2011!
I would LOVE for for AAries and Men-Nefer to relelase full-length albums in 2011, so long as they stay true to their sound and NOT cave into the pressures of the commercialized soulless crap they're calling "the future of R&B".

  2. This is one of those sunny Sunday afternoon driving with the top down jams. Just feels like a good time!

  3. They are from the DMV area and lived in Phily and this is a good song!

  7. Thanks to the "Bouncers" for the love. SoulBounce is the official spot to get AAries news first (thanks Kim!) it's no big deal: soul, r&b, neo-soul. We just want the music to make you feel good!
