‘Boogie’ On Down To Stac’s ‘Cry To Me’

For me Stac's debut album, Turn That Light Out, is undoubtedly one of the musical highlights of 2010. Her sweet, soulful voice, coupled with some great writing and production, makes it one of those albums I revisit at least once a week. A mere five months after its release Stac, along with her label Wah Wah 45s have compiled a 15-track remix album (and this is only Vol. One, Two follows in February 2011). Stac wrote/co-wrote 9 of the 10 songs, with the final being a beautiful cover of the Solomon Burke classic "Cry To Me." The track has gotten the remix treatment courtesy of Life Boogie, and it certainly transforms it from a mid-tempo bubbler into something a little more dance floor friendly. Take a listen below and if you like what you hear check out the rest of the originals and remixes over at her Bandcamp page.

  1. I've got to revisit Stac because you've been all a-Twitter about this album this year. And you know of what you speak!
This remix certainly makes me want to check her out again. Love this. Just begs to play on stage. Just her sweet vocals and the band.

  2. Thank you for all the love this year for the album. Nice to know you're enjoying the remixes too!
