Multimedia maven B. Scott recently sat down with Chaka Khan for a very revealing and fun interview. Most times when a superstar on Chaka's level is interviewed, it's all stuffy and by the book, but Khan let her guard down with B. Scott and they chatted it up like old girlfriends. I LOLed early on in the interview at how over it Chaka is at people saying her name twice whenever they meet her (which B. did, of course, but she took it in stride). She's quite candid about growing up and her desire to be a nun, how singing is as natural as some bodily functions, her past drug abuse, and her straight-no-chaser advice to those trying to kick their own habits. The coolest part of the interview for me was watching Khan slip into proud grandmother mode and talk lovingly about her grandbabies, who you can hear off-camera. Be sure to stick around to the end to hear Chaka break out into a few verses of Stevie Wonder's "I Don't Know Why I Love You" as an extra sweet treat for the Love Muffins.
