For those of you who don't know, I stan for Andreya Triana. This lady released my favorite album of last year, the stunning Lost Where I Belong, was featured on Bonobo's amazing Black Sands, and put on two of the best live performances I've seen in a while. All in all, I thought I couldn't fall in love with her music anymore than I already had. Well, I was wrong because this morning I pressed play on her "Far Closer" single, which features the original alongside a live version and two remixes--one by fellow Ninja Tune signee Mr. Scruff and one by LA beat-maestro TOKiMONSTA (aka Jennifer Lee). Both remixes are great; Mr. Scruff takes the glitchy, electro route, which contrasts nicely with Andreya's smooth, smoky vocals, but it is TOKiMONSTA's spacey hip hop take on the track that really caught my attention.
