Salah Ananse has appeared on these pages before with remixes of tracks from Janelle Monáe and Jill Scott, however this time the DJ/producer has some original material to share. He has released the three-track Marimba Weapons EP, which fuses African rhythms with conventional house music to create, as Salah calls it, "Afrohouse." Labels and genres aside, the contents of the EP make me wish that he would release more original material--don't get me wrong his remixes are tight--but after hearing "Comin' Home," which features Salah on production and vocals, I'm sold on him as an artist in his own right.
