Mary J. Blige Is Looking For 'Someone To Love' Her Latest

I had hoped that if I ignored this Mary J. Blige collabo with Diddy and Lil Wayne long enough that it would have just gone away, but no such luck. As a matter of fact, the song on which they all appear, "Someone To Love Me (Naked)," is the official first single from MJB's upcoming tenth studio album, My Life II: The Journey Continues, which is a sequel of sorts to 1994's groundbreaking, My Life. Didn't Mary learn from her last time dabbling with Diddy on Love & Life that their time in the hit-making sun had passed? Guess not, because MJB decided to go green and recycle this track from Diddy-Dirty Money's Last Train To Paris, which wasn't exactly a smart move considering that she doesn't sound anywhere near as good as the sampled vocals on the original. If that wasn't bad enough, the addition of the tattooed hobgoblin Wayne with his vulgar lyrics is a major turn off. With all this working against the song, could a hot video have saved it? Maybe, but unfortunately we didn't get that either with today's world premiere of a video that's all style, no substance, and probably cost more to make than most people's yearly salaries. This does not bode well for My Life II. Although I'm holding out hope that the remainder of the project isn't as weak as this, I won't hold my breath.
