Are You 'Gonna Love' This Jennifer Hudson Video?

Jennifer Hudson is skinny now. Did you know that? Of course you did. And since she's enjoying the hell out of her new body (including new "erms" and a new lacefront smile), she's going to do a bunch of things she's never done before, both personally and professionally. Like having babies, giving fitness advice, writing a weight loss memoir, and inspiring women everywhere to get off the couch and into the gym. That's all wonderful and fabulous, plus her new album is getting some positive reviews. Handclap for you, J-Hud. Shake your shimmy, Miss Effie White. And then there's her current single, "No One Gonna Love You." Nevermind that the song, while generally pleasant and pretty, is also generally forgettable. Forget the fact that, like the R. Kelly-penned "Where You At," the song's title shuns grammar and includes the refrain, "Somebody better told you." What matters is that Jennifer is gorgeous in the clip and, finally, decides against a heavy-handed vocal performance on the track. Here, a slim and trim Jennifer struts and sasses while The Wire's Hassan Johnson plays the seemingly forgettable beau. Donning a white tank and tuxedo vest, backed by two eager yet under-rehearsed dancers, Jen performs choreography (mostly while seated) with vigor and enthusiasm that puts 2011 Britney Spears to shame. You go girl and stuff. Now, if only Alicia Keys would watch this and opt to remain seated instead of leaving the piano bench to "dance." One can only dream.
