Jill Scott Breaks Down Her Process Of Making Music

It's hard to believe that the June 21st release date for Jill Scott's The Light of the Sun is a week away. If you haven't had a chance to listen to NPR's exclusive sneak preview of the album yet, then make haste to do that now before your Jilly from Philly fan club card is revoked. As expected, Jill rises to the occasion and returns with another collection of music that is at times flirty and fun or full of feeling and meaning. In her sixth installment of "Light of the Sundays" on Essence.com, Jill speaks on her process of making music and let's it be known that for her there is no science to it. Instead, she taps into emotions, tells stories, and becomes introspective to create songs that people can relate to. With Jill being like that good girlfriend who always knows the right thing to say or gives the best advice, I'd say mission accomplished.
