Jill Scott Gives Us A Sneak Peek At 'The Light Of The Sun'

Black Music Month is off to an exciting start thanks to Jill Scott who is giving fans an exclusive first listen to selections off of The Light of the Sun. Starting today on YouTube, Jill and co-producer JR Hutson are previewing eight tracks and discussing the creative process and inspiration behind each. We've already heard some of it ("Shame," "So In Love," "Hear My Call"), but the five additional cuts that we're treated to snippets of make it abundantly clear that Jilly will own the summer and more than likely the remainder of 2011. Of particular interest is the track "So Gone (What My Mind Says)," which tells a story of Jill being "dickmatized" and "sprung out." Yeah, that's definitely gonna be getting heavy rotation. Words are frankly insufficient to describe the hotness that our girl is bringing on this new collection, which will be in stores on June 21st and is available now for pre-order. Three weeks seems like three years to have to wait to finally get this album in our hands, but get your taste of The Light of the Sun right here, right now.
