I can pretty much guarantee that after hearing 90% of remixes I never, ever play them a second time. Usually it's because what is nowadays termed a "remix" is nothing of the sort. Or, it could be that, lazily, a producer/remixer has simply dropped a set of vocals over another beat regardless of whether or not it fits. The final reason is that, sometimes, I just prefer the original version. Occasionally though, a remix will come along that I can see myself playing over and over, as is the case with Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak's remix of the Aretha Franklin classic "Think." Comprised of Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers, and Wim Plug, Kraak & Smaak are remixers, producers and artists in their own right, having released three albums thus far. Their treatment of "Think" is sympathetic to Aretha's original, while at the same time transforming it into a guaranteed dance floor filler for anyone aged 18-80.
