Mary J. Blige Brings '25/8' To Life On 'Good Morning America'

While many of us were starting our Labor Day weekends off by either traveling early or sleeping in late last Friday, Mary J. Blige trotted back onto the Good Morning America stage to perform "25/8," her new single from My Life II: The Journey Continues. The first time I heard this song, I was less than enthused -- about the same way I feel about this MLII project as a whole actually. However, one thing that I've learned about Mary is that she can make me like (or at least tolerate) a song of hers that I may not have been feeling at first once I see her perform it live. That miraculous feat happened when I saw her in concert last year and found myself singing along to songs from her last album, which I didn't care for. Maybe I was caught up in the moment at the time, but sure enough the phenomenon happened again when I watched this video of MJB on GMA singing "25/8" in Central Park for their Summer Concert Series. Between Mary's colorful wig and jumpsuit situation, her live band and background singers sounding mighty tight, and waiting for a wardrobe malfunction to pop off with all the jumping around she was doing, this was quite enjoyable.
