We here at SBHQ last heard from R&B up-and-comer Mateo on his collaboration with Goapele and Ab-Liva "Don't Shoot Me Down." Recently, I had the pleasure of attending Mateo's listening party for his forthcoming Love & Stadiums II EP (you'll hear a lot more about that soon). One of the highlights of the night was getting to hear "Say It's So," his new single, performed live by Mateo on the piano. Lo and behold, today we have the official version of the song, which features Alicia Keys on the chorus and an assist from Swizz Beatz, available on iTunes. "Say It's So" is a pop/R&B power ballad about the painful side of love, and Mateo makes sure that you can feel it on this track. Set against drums that surprisingly knock, he breaks down just exactly how he feels now that his girl is gone. With this one, I think Mateo might just be poised for a breakthrough.
