With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season reaching a fever pitch on this Christmas Eve eve, something that we could probably all stand to do is take a minute to slow down. Enter Jose James with his version of a holiday standard to help us do just that. Not just any holiday standard, however, but "The Christmas Song," famously sung by Nat King Cole. Joined by Junior Mance on piano, Alexi David on bass, and Steve Lyman on drums, Jose's rendition is heavy on the jazz. The entire band is on point, but it's Mance's piano that takes center stage, complementing James' voice and culminating in a lovely solo on the bridge. This song has been remade countless times by artists of varying degrees of talent, but Jose James really impresses here. Even more impressive is the fact that he's giving this away for the low low price of free on his SoundCloud page. Merry Christmas, indeed.
