Discover A 'Peace' Of SBTRKT's Past

Masked producer SBTRKT burned up our best of lists last year with his self-titled debut album and its heat-seeker of a single "Wildfire." Who knew, then, that he could produce something so...cool. Mining his past, he unearthed his 2009 track "Atomic Peace" and put it up on his SoundCloud page. The track, which SBTRKT was unable to release commercially due to problems with its sample, is perhaps the most mellow thing I've ever heard from his way. Most of the tracks on his album were made to get you sweating on the dance floor. "Atomic Peace," however, is mellow, calm, and, well, peaceful. The differences between the artist of then and now, while subtle, are still very noticeable. If SBTRKT had this hiding in the crates, goodness knows what else he might be keeping under wraps. Maybe if the response to this "Atomic Peace" keeps going in the overwhelmingly positive direction, he can be persuaded to reveal more for us in the near future.
