'You Already Knew' Black Star Would Rock 'Jimmy Fallon'

Though it's not even a week old yet, 2012 is already looking like a great year for music. So many anticipated projects are popping up all over the place, including the long awaited return of Black Star. Talib Kweli and Mos De -- I mean Yasiin Bey -- are releasing their mixtape Black Star Aretha this spring, and to promote it, they stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform a few songs with The Legendary Roots Crew on the Fallon stage. Black Star Aretha of course features samples of living legend Aretha Franklin, and her sped-up soulful voice is heard throughout "You Already Knew." If you've already heard the track when it hit the net in November, the you know how nice it is. The Roots backing them just adds even more to an already great track. And, because they were feeling generous, they also did a performance of their J. Dilla-produced and sorely overlooked jam from 1998's The Hurricane soundtrack "Little Brother" as a web exclusive. Go ahead and watch "You Already Knew" and then stay through the bounce to catch their head-nodding performance of "Little Brother."
