Now the countdown to March 27th has officially begun with the release of the video for Candice Anitra's "Love Sick," taken from her upcoming Big Tree project. Those of you who heard Candice's last album, Bark Then Bite, will know that she is no stranger to mixing things up and trying out different genres/musical styles, and "Love Sick" serves to hammer that fact home. Combining her ever-soulful vocal stylings with a super-charged rock-funk backing, Candice explores aspects of intimacy and self-love/hate -- an interesting concept on Valentines Day of all days. The video was filmed in the former Brooklyn Rapid Transit power plant building (aka the "Bat Cave") in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, and alternates between shots of Candice performing the track in the derelict building, and a couple who are obviously going through some difficult times but can't let each other go.
