I have yet to give Tyrese's latest album, Open Invitation, a good listen, but I might just break down and give it a spin after watching his new video for the song "Nothing On You." He's not doing anything groundbreaking here or coloring outside the lines, but that's actually OK. There's nothing wrong with him sticking to his R&B lane, which he does on this track as he tries to convince his lady, played here by Chilli, that she is his one and only. Much like her cameos in videos with then boyfriend Usher, Chilli plays the girlfriend role well and there's good chemistry between her and Tyrese. And when she does a skip and jump into his arms at the end of the video and he picks and holds her up? Well, let's just say that they looked real cozy and comfortable with her legs wrapped around his back. But I'm not one to gossip that Tyrese and Chilli are more than just friends, so you didn't hear that from me.
