Chaka Khan & Some Famous Faces Pay Tribute To Trayvon Martin With 'Super Life'

Chaka Khan gathered a group of R&B and Black Hollywood's finest to re-record her song "Super Life" in tribute to Trayvon Martin. While all of social media has been buzzing with pictures of everyday people dressed in their hoodies to honor the life of the innocent young man and shed light on the miscarriage of justice unfolding before our very eyes, it seemed as though the music industry was eerily silent. But enter the living soul legend whose 2007 song "Super Life" from the album Funk This has been repurposed as a group song in the vein of "We Are the World" to spearhead the Fear Kills, Love Heals initiative encouraging people to take a stand. Recorded over the weekend, footage was captured of project's participants such as Eric Benét, Kelly Price, Kenny Latimore, Angela Bassett, Courtney B. VanceTerry Crews, Stacy Francis, Luke James, V. Bozeman, and Boris Kodjoe as they gathered in the studio to lend their voices to the cause. We are all Trayvon Martin and we all stand together until justice is served. We look forward to more musical tributes and efforts to raise consciousness and awareness.
