Snarky Puppy Has Got The Right ‘Stuff’

Jazz-soul super group Snarky Puppy helped us start this week off just right by releasing a clip from their soon-to-be-released CD/DVD, groundUP. Recorded live back in December at Brooklyn's Shapeshifter Lab, groundUP stands as the initial release on the newly launched imprint GroundUp Music via Ropadope Records. This collective of musicians includes the likes of Michael League (Myron Butler & Levi, Dave Brubeck, Walter Hawkins), Robert "Sput" Searight (Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg), Shaun Martin (Kirk Franklin, Badu) and the recent addition of Cory Henry, to name a few. "Young Stuff," featured in the video below, plays at about nine minutes of unaltered instrumentation and pure bliss. The groundUP DVD, which will be released on Tuesday, March 20th via the Ropeadope online store and is available now for pre-order, features eight tracks, interviews, and two years of behind-the-scenes tour footage. Get a glimpse of Snarky Puppy in action below and check out more groundUP footage after the bounce.
