Tuesday, March 27th sees the release of the fourth single from The Decoders' self-titled EP, and once again they have taken on a classic from Minnie Riperton's catalog. Itai Shapira and Todd Simon recruited vocalist Boston Fielder to tackle the one of Minnie's signature hits, "Les Fleurs," and the results can be heard below. Sticking to the theme of Lover's Rock-inspired covers, the duo, along with Blake Colie on drums and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on strings, give the track a reggae-flavored bounce that I was nervous about on paper, but works oh so well on wax. As always the track (and its three predecessors) will be available from the band's Bandcamp page starting tomorrow.
