Hologram If You Hear Me: An Animated Tupac Performs At Coachella

If you're a night owl like myself and happened to be up in the wee hours last night and anywhere near a computer, then if you had any sense whatsoever you were tuned in to the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg concert live and direct from Coachella. I enjoyed watching from the comfort of my couchella as Dre and Snoop spit one hit after the other. The good Dr. was in fine form -- literally and figuratively -- and Snoop was making it happen in between puff puffs and no passes. Not only were those two blessing the Coachella audience with their presence, but they trotted out Warren G50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem to join in on the fun, as well as a very special surprise guest -- Tupac. In a moment that was at once crazy good and crazy creepy, a hologram of the late great Tupac Shakur was beamed onto the massive stage. The animation of Tupac's likeness was uncanny and scarily life-like complete with abs, tats and sagging pants, but when he started talking and rapping all bets were off. When the voice of Tupac shouted out "What the f--k is up, Coachella?!" I rubbed my sleepy eyes and couldn't believe what I was hearing/seeing. The truly outrageous hologram (word to Jem) then proceeded to kick it on "Hail Mary" before being joined on stage by Snoop for "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and finally disappearing in a plume of weed smoke after his set was up. This feat of technology has been the talk of the town with fans hoping to see more of HoloPac in the future. I don't know about going to a full concert to watch a hologram spit rhymes, but I do know that if Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg decide to take this show on the road, I'm so there.
