Joy Denalane Takes Us In-Session For 'Maureen'

It's been kind of a slow crawl today on this Hump Day, but to freshen the senses there is some new music to scope out. If memory escaped you, Joy Denalane released the international version of her third album, Maureen, worldwide yesterday. We already got a taste of it in the aural gift of the Bilal assisted and Jake One remixed, "Should Have Never," so while I'm scrounging up nickels and dimes from the couch to get my hands on the full album, the cats over at Okayplayer have dropped this exclusive visual to further provoke interest. What you'll see before you is a simplistic set-up of Joy and her band in an intimate performance space as they perform the track "Free" from Maureen. Well, that sounds pretty basic, right? Well, be prepared to be entertained as you become the fly-on-the-wall to this blazing performance. Though I've heard Joy do the track in German, the effect is still the same, as I adore the shades of jazz it has, and especially love how Joy's voice just wraps around the lyrics. It's just all-around dope. So without further jibber jabber, make sure to get your hands on Maureen over at iTunes, if you're as bought and sold as I am.
