Cheri Coke, aka the artist formerly known as Cheri Dennis and not a new flavor of soda pop, is readying a new project with a surprising collaborator. No, she hasn't reunited with Diddy, but she has linked up with producer and SoulBounce fave MeLo-X for the upcoming EP, X/COKE. This duo came to be after, like many of us, Cheri came across MeLo-X's stellar work on the internet and was so impressed by his skills that she sought him out to work with. The rest, as they say, is history, and Coke and X are trying to make a little history of their own on X/COKE. The pair gives hungry ears some musical fruit to bite into with the first single, "The Garden of Eden." The song is an electro soul groove with elements of house and a sound that they describe as "Nu Wave Trill Sex." It's a different look for Cheri, but one that works because she sounds wonderful here.
