Fall Into 'Oblivion' With The Seshen

Ever since stumbling upon them earlier this year, The Seshen has been one of my favorite musical discoveries. Their self-titled debut not only bends genres, it shatters them to reform them into something else altogether. Maybe that's why their debut video "Oblivion," which they raised funds for via a Kickstarter campaign, is full of quick edits and cuts reformed to create an interesting and arresting visual. All seven of the members of the band get their time to shine in the clip, but Laline St. Juste's ethereal vocals gets the most spotlight as they flow effortlessly through the song. What's truly impressive about the video, though, is what they were able to do with far less resources than your average mainstream artist. If one hadn't known about the Kickstarter campaign, you wouldn't have been able to tell by the video's quality. It perfectly captures the song's tone while adding another distinct artistic layer to it. From its scratchy old film effects to its production values, this video could've easily gone toe-to-toe with most mainstream clips and come out victorious. But don't just take my word for it, see for yourself when you check it out below.
