Let DJ House Shoes & Jimetta Rose Take You To The 'Castles' In The Sky

The music world was delivered a crushing blow last year when drummer/producer Jovan "J-1" Coleman passed away at the age of 32 while touring overseas in Sweden. When news of the self-taught musician's death hit, Twitter tributes from those who knew him well flooded timelines. One of those hit hard by the loss was DJ House Shoes, who paid homage to Coleman both online and with an all-vinyl tribute set within days of his tragic death. House Shoes keeps the memory of his good friend alive with his new video, "Castles." Featuring the vocal magic of songstress Jimetta Rose, House Shoes reminisces on the bond he shared with J-1. Drenched in sunshine, the video flickers between shots of clouds in the sky, Jimetta in a field of flowers, House Shoes and a shadowed profile of a J-1 stand-in, before ending with actual footage of the departed drummer in action and giving an interview alongside his Master Blazter collaborator DaM-Funk. The song and its video provides a touching send-off for someone who left us much too soon. "Castles" is the second single from House Shoes' album, Let It Go, which is available now.
