Applejac & Kenny Wesley Will Have You Saying 'Oh Yeah'

Twas a year ago that our ace boom Applejac released his debut album, Playin' Favorites, which quickly became a favorite here at SoulBounce. To commemorate its first anniversary, Applejac has blessed us with another fresh cover of an old song, this time around enlisting DMV-based vocalist Kenny Wesley to do his duty on Bill Withers' "Oh Yeah" from his 1985 album Watching You Watching Me. Wesley's take is feather-light, tender like a lullaby and giving so many shades of Rahsaan Patterson on this updated production. Words can't express how much I love this. I got the scoop from Applejac that "Oh Yeah" is the first taste from his sophomore set, tentatively titled More Favorites, which will also feature Debórah Bond, Miles Bonny, Erik Rico, Moonchild and Frank Mccomb, to name a few. That amazing lineup for the follow-up to Playin' Favorites has me wishing that I could time travel into the future to hear it, but I'll try to exercise some patience. In the meantime, enjoy this world premiere of "Oh Yeah" from Applejac and Kenny Wesley and cop the free download from SoundCloud.
