Vivian Green Wonders If There Is 'Anything Out There'

Someone wise said that it's "never as good as the first time" and no truer sentiment could be in association with the way I feel about Vivian Green. Not to be rude, but I haven't been exactly keen on anything Ms. Green has done since her 2002 debut album, A Love Story. At 10 years of age (!), A Love Story is still fresh on my brain and still reads like a novel you can pick up again and again finding something new between the lines. This was a sensation that didn't carry into her subsequent efforts for me. So with timid footsteps I approach "Anything Out There," the latest single for Green's upcoming The Green Room project. With The Green Room, Green promises to bring the uptempos back because they went somewhere out to lunch on her last album, 2010's Beautiful. "Anything Out There" retains that promise as it boasts an easy-does-it R&B groove that sways smoothly along. Memorable? Eh, we'll see if I remember this a week from now, but Green exerts such positive energy that it's hard not to feel the love on this one. The Green Room hits stores September 25th.
