It's been quite the year for fans of soulful house music. There have been stellar releases from the legendary Joey Negro, The Layabouts excellent Future Retro, and a Reel People "best of" compilation -- and that is just on the album front. Those of you who checked out House Is Love, last week's The Mixologists mix courtesy of SB fam Keyknow, will also have heard a track from German DJ/producer Ralf GUM, taken from his latest album, Never Leaves You. "Take Me To My Love," which features Monique Bingham on vocals, is just the tip of the iceberg, as Ralf has lined up an all-star cast of vocalists to bring his 10-track LP to life. The biggest, and most pleasant, surprise was the appearance of Caron Wheeler (of Soul II Soul fame) on album standout "So Good."
