It is often said that all good things must come to an end, but sometimes those good things that end start up new again. That's certainly the case with the renowned Beat Society producer and beat-making showcase that is returning to Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 16th. The event began in Philadelphia in 2001 and has traveled to various cities across the US over the years, but it hasn't been back to the DMV area for six years. That hiatus ends soon, however, with the showcase that's brought beat-smiths such as Just Blaze, Kanye West and 9th Wonder to the city returning with a fresh slate of producers and performers coming to the stage at Liv, located at 2001 11th Street, NW. The DC rebirth of Beat Society will feature beatmakers !llmind, Hezekiah, Judah and IMakeMadBeats; performers Skyzoo, Wes Felton and Maimouna Youssef; and DJ Sonny James aka DJ Statik of the Illvibe Collective.
