Kendrick Lamar & Drake Wax 'Poetic'

Kendrick Lamar has been doing the damn thing with his debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city. One of the sets' most talked about tracks has got to be his collaboration with fellow upstart Drake, "Poetic Justice." The "Any Time, Any Place" sampling single finds K. Dot and Drake spitting their finest game at a unique young lady. When it came time for the track's visuals, Lamar did something ingenious in this day and age: he made a video that actually tells a story. We see Kendrick meeting this particularly fly young lady during what looks like a late-night party. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes as shots ring out and Kendrick rushes to find his lady in the crowd. I won't spoil what happens after, but it's definitely interesting. Sure, there are some slow, clichéd spots (like the fact that Drake performs most of his verse as a near naked woman lies in bed next to him in her unmentionables), but overall it's a strong, unexpected visual for the song. Maybe the only thing that would've made it better is if Kendrick had gotten his wish and Ms. Jackson had graced the clip with her presence.
