Kendrick Lamar Gets 'Poetic' On 'Late Show With David Letterman'

Is it just me, or has there been a noticeable increase in the amount of hip hop and R&B artists performing on late-night television? It's as if we've gone from a famine ever since The Arsenio Hall Show was cancelled many moons ago to a low-key feast in recent months. Consider me crunk because as a night owl I'm often watching TV into the wee hours, and it's great to see more artists who I actually listen to getting some national network shine. Last night, for instance, I was tuned in to the Late Show with David Letterman to get turned out by Kendrick Lamar. After showing out on Saturday Night Live last month -- and waking me up in the process since I'd been sleeping so hard on him -- I knew that an awesome performance was on deck and sure enough he delivered. Lamar performed "Poetic Justice" once again sans Drake and backed by his full TDE band with an emphasis on Terrace Martin's wicked saxophone. This was quite impressive and even had David Letterman himself giving props. Word.
