Let J. Cole & Miguel Take You On A 'Power Trip'

I first fell in musical lust with J. Cole and Miguel back when they collaborated on Miguel's "All I Want Is You" back in 2010. Since then, I've fallen head over heels for both of them, with J. Cole capturing my attention with his somewhat husky voice and steady lyrical flow. Now, Cole is back with the first official single from his upcoming album, Born Sinner, named "Power Trip," which sees him reunite with newly-minted GRAMMY Award winner Miguel to create some more electricity. The track tackles the dilemma of being completely sprung over a woman who isn't the right one, and being unsure of what to do or how to deal with the situation. As the track goes on, Cole's delivery of how this woman is walking all over him will reel you in and have you feeling mad that he's still hanging around and increasingly becoming obsessed, while Miguel's input on the hook balances it out by showing us the sensitive side of the situation -- that this man is blinded by his desires. It goes without saying that letting these two do their thing together over a hot beat is never a bad idea, and "Power Trip" just reminds us of why.
