'Smash' Loads Up On Star Power For Season 2

Though it kind of devolved into a bit of a mess, I was completely here for the premiere season of NBC's Smash. Its behind-the-scenes peek into the creation of a Broadway musical and all the blood, sweat, tears and drama that goes into it was definitely attention-grabbing (if not at times frustrating). After last season, the cast and story were overhauled, adding more than a few guest stars and getting rid of some of the unnecessary characters (Good riddance, Ellis!) in an effort to build upon the show's best parts. To that effect, quite a few stars will be joining season two. Of course, the most well-known addition is Jennifer Hudson's Veronica Moore, a Broadway starlet who brings a bit of her own drama to the mix. Also coming on board are Law & Order and Rent star Jesse L. Martin, original Dreamgirl Sheryl Lee Ralph and even grand dame Liza Minelli. With all this big name talent, it's obvious that the show is either going to triumph spectacularly or go out in a big, messy ball of flames. Either way, count me in! For more info about this season's star-studded guest list, check the featurette below. As for me, my love of guilty pleasures will have me on my couch tonight at 9 pm for Smash's two-hour premiere.
