Don't Say 'Goodnight' To Philip Owusu

The search for Philip Owusu can finally be called off! The one time other half of the once Bounce-Worthy Owusu & Hannibal -- alongside super producer Robin Hannibal, who himself has so many pots going it's hard to keep nowadays -- is finally making his return to the music scene and he couldn't have picked a better song to do it with. "Goodnight" is a slightly jazzy, very soulful ballad full of beautifully poetic lyrics and soaring strings that make the song feel almost dream-like in its lushness. It also is a perfect vehicle for Philip's voice, which is tender and emotive, able to deliver stirring leads and gorgeous harmonies without overpowering the lyric. Quite honestly, it's songs like this that remind me why I love music so much in the first place. "Goodnight" is available for purchase now via Philip's Bandcamp page and is our first taste from his upcoming album SUBS, which is set to drop later this year. As you wait for more word on what other sure-to-be breathtaking music SUBS will have in store, do yourself a favor by taking a break and giving this song five-and-a-half minutes of your undivided attention. You'll be glad you did. [H/T: OKP]
