Quite often, when discussing some of our favorite acts, we will use phrases such as "Oh, I could listen to [insert chosen singer] sing the phonebook" to illustrate the fact that, in most situations, their voice will always trump the material they are working with. Step forward London-based duo, and darlings of the blogosphere, AlunaGeorge who seem intent on testing that little adage to the max. Performing a live session for BBC Radio 1, the duo delivered sparkling performances of their singles "Diver" and "Attracting Flies" and then went on to deliver a cover of "I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song)." Yes, that's right, "I Wanna Be Like You" from Disney's Jungle Book. It was with a little trepidation I pressed play, being a big fan of the duo, and Aluna Francis' alluring vocals in particular, but the result is a cute, fun little ditty that won't necessarily gain them any new fans, but shows the duo's playful side off to full effect.
