Le'Andria Johnson & Tyrese Go To Church With 'A Song For You'

BET's annual Celebration of Gospel broadcast kicked off last night and as usual spawned a few special pairings of the gospel and R&B worlds. From Tamar Braxton taking on a Walter Hawkins classic to a special duet from Donnie McClurkin and revered soul alto Anita Baker, BET presented possibly their greatest content and the best singing heard on the network all year. But the most incredible moment of the night had to have been when Tyrese and former Sunday Best winner Le'Andria Johnson took on "A Song For You," a song best known as performed by the late soul crooner Donny Hathaway. Adding a spiritual twist to a soul classic, this memorable moment perfectly paired together Tyrese's unmatchable tone and the divine vocal acrobatics of Johnson. Although taking a song that we've all heard sung hundreds of times and adding a refreshing twist may not be an easy feat, these two managed to succeed in the moment with Johnson leading the way. Catch a glimpse of the extra special moment and head over to BET.com for more performances and behind the scenes footage from the 2013 Celebration of Gospel.
